Diving Holiday
Dutch Scuba Divers,
Sultanate of Oman
May 2015

May, 2015

This year also we are going on a diving trip abroad. We, being the members of the Duikcentrum-Den Haag. Our destination this year will be Sifawy, a small coastal town located on the Gulf of Oman. We will be flying from Amsterdam, stopping in Dubai, and our final destination will be the Sultanate of Oman Musqat airport in Oman. From there we travel to the Sifawy Boutique Hotel. During this diving trip we expect to see some of the larger sea creatures like manta rays and of course whale sharks. Well, at least I do!

Oman, officially the Sultanate of Oman, is an Arab country in the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It holds a strategically important position at the mouth of the Persian Gulf. Oman is bordered by the United Arab Emirates to the northwest, Saudi Arabia to the west, and Yemen to the southwest, and shares marine borders with Iran and Pakistan.

The coast is a 1,000-mile-long (1,700 km) coastal plain at the southeast tip of the Arabian Peninsula. It is formed by the Arabian Sea on the southeast and the Gulf of Oman on the northeast. The Madha and Musandam exclaves are surrounded by the United Arabe Emirates on their land borders, with the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman forming Musandam's coastal boundaries. It is bordered by the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.
