De Koog, Texel
B&B Naduin

June 2021

Rather than a hotel we again opted for a Bed & Breakfast option. We initially tried the Bed & Breakfast where we stayed at last time. This however was not possible since all rooms were occupied. After some searching we found this rental unit. The booking confirmation and invoice came through the Texel VVV (tourist office).

As you can see from the photos, it was home away from home. We were welcomed by the lady of the house, after which she showed us the rooms we could use. On the top floor that were three of them; a spacious living room, a bed room and a shower room. We have the whole floor to ourselves.

To our (pleasant) surprise the living room was furnished with a kitchen block with an electric cooker. Pots, pans and utensils available! And way in the back is a dishwasher. This was NOT mentioned in the B&B announcement. Hence the surprise! This allowed us to cook or heat up an already prepared meal. This B&B does not have an apartment status and is therefore not allowed to advertise these facilities. Rules and regulations! The living room has two large tumbling windows at the street side and one in the back next to the kitchen part.

The bedroom has two single beds, so no fighting over the blankets. Actually these bed covers are not blankets but duvets. In the closet is an extra one for each in case it gets colder. We also have a tumbling window here.

In the shower room next to the shower is also the toilet. Facing the shower is the sink with hot and cold water. In the back are a dryer and a washing machine. If need be we are allowed to use these. And here also we also have a tumbling window.

We were given a house key and a key to lock the doors at our floor. Located around the corner in the street named Brink is a bike rental company. Rented bikes can be parked behind a door on the driveway next to the house.

Sunset over De Koog

Following the Parnassiastraat you end up in the main street of De Koog; the Dorpsstraat. If you cross the square and follow the passage between the ice parlor and the fish restaurant, you will find a large JUMBO store. Right next to it on the other side is a large LIDL. Turning left before the JUMBO entrance is located the Restaurant Bella Toscana where we bought our pizza the last day.

We really enjoyed our stay at this B&B, and we are sure to come back again! We were lucky to have the top floor at our disposal. It allows you a great view across a large part of the village. Especially during sunset; a spectacular view.

and welcome!
