SAGA Hotel

April 2018

The SAGA hotel that we made reservations with is located only a five-minute walk away from the station. With the metro you need to make one transfer to get to the station. With a suitcase that is a bit bothersome. The hotel is located in Colbjørnsensgade, which is one street south of the Central Station.

It is a quiet neighbourhood with a 7-11 convenience store located nearby. The room that we get is on the second floor. It is a bit of a climb with the suitcase since there is no lift in the building. The room is not very large, but it is clean with its own shower and toilet. It suits our needs fine! Some of the other rooms share a toilet in the hallway.

Our arrangement included breakfast, and the dining room is on the first floor. There are fresh rolls, rye bread, savoury and sweet bread covers like cheese and meat. If you like it, you can have a boiled egg as well. And obviously there are also coffee, tea and juices.

We were welcomed by a friendly staff member that helped us with a map of the city and a few recommendations as to where to go and what to see. The hotel also has bicycles for rent, which we did rent the second day. Moving around by bike in Copenhagen is a big plus. Copenhagen accommodates cyclists very well. Throughout the city there are designated bike-lanes that will get you quickly where you want to go.

Important to know!

If the cyclist in front of you raises his/her hand upwards, it means that he/she is about to stop or is going to stop! I did not know this and I nearly had a close encounter! Nearly!

and welcome!
